To the curious, the explorers, the enthusiasts: welcome!
Science is our passion

Who are you?

Hi! I'm Guilford, a Master's student in Quantum Information. I consider science to be my driving force in life and my purpose. I believe that humanity is capable of great things thanks to its passion and determination in scientific research. I think we are capable of anything when we love what we do so much that we lose track of time and the effort involved. I love the idea that humanity is capable of coming together around common challenges, such as answering all the questions it asks itself or solving all the problems it faces. I also believe in the importance of sharing knowledge, and that is why this blog exists. I also tutor in math and computer science. I enjoy learning as much as I enjoy teaching, and I’m certain that you learn a lot by teaching, so it’s a virtuous cycle.

Is what I'm reading here AI-generated?

Absolutely not. The research, planning, writing, and everything else on this site are all done entirely by hand by a passionate person. My opinion on the use of chatbots is purely my own and has no place here. But the most important point to remember is that I am human: I am prone to making mistakes. Whether it’s syntax errors, an explanation that might be hard to understand, overly complex diagrams, a writing style that’s sometimes less than professional, etc.: all of this is what makes my work original but by no means perfect. Rest assured, though, that you’re dealing with a perfectionist who’s constantly striving to improve and who hates sloppiness. Please let me know if you spot any errors or have suggestions for improvement. I’ll pay close attention to any constructive feedback, and I’d be delighted to use your input to make my scientific communication as good as possible.

Why is your English so weird?

Please excuse me if that's the case. English is not my native language. Even though my studies and hobbies require me to read and speak English sometimes more than my own language, I am not at a bilingual level. And in keeping with the principles I mentioned above, I avoid using machine translators as much as possible when writing my texts. I rely heavily on the Cambridge Dictionary and Wiktionary for vocabulary and syntax, and on the scientific papers I read for phrasing complex sentences.
